new adventures in oils

I like oil painting, but haven’t done it in a few years. It’s also such a production to prepare the canvas and set up all the paints. But then it’s so zen to do the actual painting.

Anyway, I wanted an oil version of the sockeye salmon. The underpainting looked great. Then I got mad at it while adding color and I wiped the whole thing. Now I look at the photo and think, it wasn’t that bad. Doubly frustrated with myself. Gonna cool off for a few days, then try again. I might just leave it in underpainting colors. Or maybe do two versions, one sepia, one in color.
